We tried to head out of Clearwater area a couple of days ago, stopped by to meet a friend in Apollo Beach for lunch….But, to our surprise the bus didn’t start. Â Luckily our friend knew a quality guy who happens to be a mobile mechanic. We stayed the night at Winn Dixie…And we received amazing hospitality of the local fish fry restaurant, great for wifi and a place to hangout and eat while we waited. Â It turned out to be our starter, so we fixed it along with the help of Frank the awesome local mechanic…And two days later we were on our way South.
We decided to stop and take some R&R in Sarasota. We found a nice space at the local Ramada. Â Complete with tiki bar and restaurant… Called the Bearded Clam.
The restaurant and drinks added to the already comfortable accommodations the Ramada had to offer. Plus the front desk hostess was amazing, Mary Jane thank you for your care! Next we head down towards Miami.
See you in South Florida!!
Fun in the sun… Swimming, drumming, friends, food, flowers and love what more could we ask for!! The Dunedin Brewery has a weekly groovin drum circle on Tuesday nights starting at 8 p.m full of awesome people and good vibes ( complete with local ladies belly dancing)… Not to mention they are the longest running micro brewery in Florida (they have delicious food as well)
Another relaxing nature walk, a bounty of birds contributed to the enjoyment of it all. Headed to the beach next.
A great end to a fabulous day… Our picture perfect no filter needed sunset on Clearwater Beach. Feeling grateful!! Until our next update…Have fun and enjoy the ride!!  🙂
We were so fortunate to find this great hidden treasure of Florida. Â There are multiple wildlife preserves that you can get permits to stay on (for primitive camping)… Yes Florida, ya do know how to make a bus family happy!
Driving down the road to our site was nothing short of magical!!
We stayed at camp for a couple of days and then headed to Hudson Beach ( only 14 miles away) for an afternoon of relaxing, picture taking and a light lunch with the kiddos. Â And some computer work and home schooling on the way back to camp. Now onto Clearwater Beach to see some old and new friends!!
If you have any suggestions or tips on life in Florida or must see adventures please let us know!!

When the arctic blast takes over almost the entire United States what do you do? Well, if you’re us you reevaluate mid-tract, change your plans, turn around and head to Florida! Â We had been planning our trip back out West since we left last spring. But When we got to Texas on New Years Eve and their local weather talked about snow and ice storms we pulled over and researched our options ( for 6 hours at the Beaumount, TX. McDonald’s off Rt. 10Â utilizing their heat, hot coffee, free wifi and power outlets). At the end of our research it was clear we were Florida bound.
The Feed the People aspect of our tour would need to change a bit, given the laws in Florida (No Free Hot Food allowed), but that’s ok we are the creators! Solar is waiting for us in Arizona, but we can get that sent to Florida and add some more DIY to our ever evolving skill set list. Â Rock climbing will also be limited, but hey life’s an adventure no matter what…So back to the drawing board we go.
See you all in Florida!

If life hands you lemons, do you make lemonade? Or do you think beyond those lines, to the fact that there is no proverbial lemon in the first place. That maybe the challenge actually has the sweet taste of lemonade on a breezy summer day in and of itself or perhaps every taste in between. Â That the resistance we feel can be celebrated equally with the same grace and gratitude as we show when life feels like it is flowing free. This is possible, not because I am a yogi or a meditation guru, but because I am witness to the benefits that said resistance offers in my life…Resistance has been one of the greatest motivators so far.
One day maybe our life forces and how to manifest our truest desires will flow freely with no resistance needed. But for now I will continue to transmute the pressure into a vortex of creation. As we did a year ago… After loosing a major contract. Clarity hit, it was time to step away from much of what we had known. We gave away 95% of what we owned, then left our home and got into our car with our 2 children and headed West. On that trip we bought a bus and discovered we want to live on the road. We spent much of the summer planning how to make this work and felt like we came up with a pretty solid plan.
But a series of events over the past 2 months have left us unable to head back West when we planned to ( financial issues make it too risky to hit the road right now, and even more impossible to help fund our “Feed the People” tour). Â We are quickly approaching winter and our bus isn’t safe for the cold and especially cold and wet, which New England is made of. So what to do? Do we change our desires or values? Should we think, what are we doing this is bound to fail? Do we need to go back into mainstream society and get day jobs? Do we cry?
No! We will again make of a list of what’s important in our souls, what we want from life and for our kids… Then put it all together and see what comes out. Â Quality food for our family, food culture, rock climbing, solar, sustainable habitat, art, open spaces, family style education, happiness, contentment….These ingredients have been added to the vortex. There is focus beyond the pressures and worries, there is a knowing. Â A knowing that clarity is on the brink. Â Ohhhhh, how I can hardly wait to see what this new baby looks like!!!
